Vehicles in Germany's Town Found Marked with Swastikas in Human Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Law Enforcement
Police reported they were notified by a man who found a car in Hanau smeared with red-colored fluid

Roughly fifty vehicles have been covered with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German town of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.

Cars, building surfaces and postboxes were vandalized, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they reported in a statement.

Police report they were contacted late on Wednesday, when a individual discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish liquid.

The substance had been drawn in the shape of a banned symbol, they reported.

Law enforcement then located multiple other marked cars and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.

Swastikas are banned in Germany under legislation prohibiting the public display of Nazi symbols.

Law enforcement report initial examinations suggest the fluid was likely blood from a person.

"There is still no lead as to its origin; authorities are not yet informed of any physical harm in association with the event," they commented.

Municipal representatives announced they were working "to solve the incident" and have asked to the community for details.

A high-ranking official commented the attack rendered him stunned and needed to be resolved promptly.

"This act hits the core of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the far-right terrorist attack in 2020," he stated on a platform, mentioning the murder of nine people by a assailant targeting individuals of foreign heritage in five years prior.
